The first round had five movies receive unanimous votes; #1 seeds Home Alone and A Christmas Story, #2 seed Die Hard, #3 seed National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and (surprisingly) #6 seed Miracle on 34th Street.
There were three upsets in the first round; #9 seed Babes in Toyland marched over #8 seed Santa Claus is Coming to Town, #13 Jack Frost put the freeze on #4 Rudolph and #10 Trading Places swapped spots with #7 Mickey’s Christmas Carol.

Similar to March Madness, it will be a 64 movie tournament with sixteen entrants from each region. The four regions will be the Classics (1979 and earlier), the 80's, the 90's and 2000 to present.
To create the bracket, I put my personal bias aside and used a mix of internet rankings and input from friends. To fill all sixty-four slots, I've included movies that don't necessarily have a Christmas theme, but take place during the Holidays.
Before someone comments "________ isn't really a Christmas movie" - I am leaving that judgment call up to you in the form of your vote.
I would like you to vote from the perspective "If I could only watch one of these movies during the Holidays, which one would I pick?" In other words, vote on the movies you feel are must watch this time of the year; whether you prefer the classics with Santa and Frosty or you'd rather watch John McClane throw bad guys off Nakotomi Plaza.
I'll have the voting for each round last two days, concluding with the championship right around Christmas Day. To vote, just type in the comments section your chosen winners (just type the number of the seed) from each region.
